A Journey Dedicated to Harmony and Energy
Masamichi Noro (January 21, 1935 – March 15, 2013) was one of the closest disciples (uchi-deshi) of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido. Sent to Europe in 1961 by O Sensei as the official delegate of Aikikai for Europe and Africa, he played a major role in the dissemination and development of Aikido on these continents.
After many years of teaching Aikido, Master Noro, drawing on his deep understanding of the principles transmitted by O Sensei and his own research, created Kinomichi in 1979. He oriented his practice towards the study of Ki (vital energy), the joy of movement, and the fulfillment of being.
Contribution and Vision:
- Aikido Pioneer: Introduction and structuring of Aikido in France and many countries.
- Creator of Kinomichi: Development of an original method focused on energy circulation, contact, and spiral. Learn more about Kinomichi.
- Transmission of O Sensei's spirit: Fidelity to the principles of harmony and non-violence.
- Constant research: A life dedicated to deepening the Way (Do) and adapting teaching to his students' needs.
Master Noro's legacy lies in his ability to have transmitted an art of peace and harmony, and to have created a unique path of fulfillment, Kinomichi, which continues to be practiced and developed by his students around the world.
